John Meek, Jr. (D27) was born at Ellicott's Mills (now Ellicott City Md.) in 1772. He was
sometimes called "Little John". When a small boy he moved with his father to Penn. where he
lived until 1788, and then moved to New Castle, Henry Co. Ky. There he married Margaret Erwin
Jul 1st 1792. About 1812 he moved to Wayne Co. Ind. settling at Clear Creek, now within the
city of Richmond, where his wife died about 1820. After a residence there of several years he
moved back to Henry Co. where in 1827 he married Selina Stevenson daughter of John Stevenson,
(name often erroneously called Stinson) She was born in 1807, being only twenty years old at
the time of her marriage, while Mr. Meek was fifty five. In 1832 Mr. Meek returned to Wayne Co.
and resided there until 1841. From there he moved to Morgan Township, Owen Co. Ind. where he
died in 1849.and was buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. He was a farmer nearly all his life.
His second wife died at Spencer Ind. in 1883.

Jeremiah Meek (D30) was born in Md. about 1778. From there he went to Ky. And about 1807 married
a Miss Connell, (should read Mary Cronwell), in Salsberry Wayne Co Ind., where he was appointed
judge of the probate court. He moved to Hancock Co. Ind in 1827 and served as probate judge in
that county for several years. His second marriage was to Cathrine Williams who was born in No.
Car. in 1803. He died in Greenfield Ind. In 1839.
