Basil Meek was a brother of John Meek born 1754 and Jacob Meek born 1755 according to Jacob's obituary which states he was a brother of Basil. Basil was in Allegheny Co., PA at the same time that John and Jacob lived there. In addition Basil eventually located in Henry Co., KY where John and Jacob had migrated. John and Jacob are tied together by the facts that they migrated together from Allegheny Co., PA to Henry Co., KY and a grandson of John Meek wrote a letter stating that John had a brother named Jacob who was appointed administrator of his will.
DNA tests now provide strong support for the genealogical data that indicates that Basil, John and Jacob were brothers.
